Drug policy
I am currently studying contemporary drug policies including but not limited to drug consumption rooms, decriminalisation policy, and public attitudes toward drug policy. As a computational social scientist, I use AI methods to analyse social media posts, national surveys, news and article regarding these research. topics.
Previously I worked for the Turkish government and I had 16 years of experience in the public sector. Institutional priorities directed me to develop evidence-based interventions for drug supply and demand. I conducted a content analysis of court files to reformulate encountering strategies at the street, national and international levels.
Moreover, I managed two European Monitoring Centre for Drug and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) projects, wastewater analysis and retail/wholesale drug price collection systems in Turkey. I developed a data collection method for Turkey that enables governments to report illegal drug prices to the international communities. I extended these micro-level research to national and international level drug policy evaluations.
You can see my current research in project page.
